This is a social site based on a highly customized version of Drupal. It is geared towards the exhibition of images, sound and video that document each artist’s work. There’s also a particular selection system at work: each participating artist mentions his/her favorite artists, who are later invited to submit their information and will themselves choose their favorites, and so on.
The influence and affinity network that emerges from this process is one of the most interesting features of the site. The visitor can browse it going from one artist to another following their ‘favorite’ links. Also, there’s a dynamic Flash visualization that graphically represents the immediate surrounding network for each artist.
I developed the system after an idea from Roberto Jacoby, with the collaboration of Eric Londaits on PHP programming and Drupal customization.
